Unique Selling Point

A unique selling point (USP), otherwise known as a unique selling proposition, is a thing that makes a product or service of a company stand out over the competition. The USP can be a product’s or service’s features, innovation, unique design, special technical characteristics, etc. USPs are usually the basis of the marketing campaign for that product or service. It is not an uncommon practice for companies to patent (if possible) a USP to protect it from their competitors for the duration of their patent.
